New Gizmo - Microsoft Courier

http://gizmodo.com/5365299/courier-first-details-of-microsofts-secret-tablet
Looks kind of cool in the video demo but will it make any real difference to getting any job done today, other than in a niche or two, I doubt it.

It might sell initially to impress work mates but will it become mainstream. Lets look back at this in 2012?

Social computing, web2.0 business

Adding to my two previous entries this week, this is a nice example of where the next wave of the web is heading!

FT.com / Entrepreneurship - Covestor plans internet revolution

“Everyone knows someone who is really good at investing, and you just wish you could invest when they do,” says Mr Blacher. “But most of us are not that active in managing our portfolios when we have shares. We end up just holding on to them, when we should be selling.”

“You have to take anonymous advice based on a track record with a pinch of salt,” he says. “It is on par with getting investment advice from your brother-in-law or a neighbour. It could be the source of some good ideas, but investors should still vet them.”

Cloud-ready? 74% of tech professionals work from 3 or more computers | Between the Lines | ZDNet.com

This adds to the thinking of Cloud computing but it still appears to be just a little bit of white fluff in the vast blue sky thinking/hoping of the IT industry.

Cloud-ready? 74% of tech professionals work from 3 or more computers Between the Lines ZDNet.com

It will be interesting if businesses on the ground see Cloud delivering for them in the way (going backwards) web2.0, Saas, hosting, ecommerce and the browser has done over the last 15 years.

In not sure that the example quoted http://www.xmarks.com/about/company does much more than the pillars of web2.0 are already doing be that Tags, RSS, etc

James Balog: Time-lapse proof of extreme ice loss | Video on TED.com

James Balog: Time-lapse proof of extreme ice loss Video on TED.com: "Photographer James Balog shares new image sequences from the Extreme Ice Survey, a network of time-lapse cameras recording glaciers receding at an alarming rate, some of the most vivid evidence yet of climate change."

With any emissions, polution and consumption we just have to always think about "stewardship" of our planet for the good of "all future generations" and there will me so many of them, hopefully.

Even if climate change isnt man made, I believe it is, but even if it isnt there is every reason to change everything from homes to cars, from food to vacations to ensure we do not consumer more than we put back in thr right way, NET NET allow the planet GAIA to gain, Why wouldnt we!!!
