Tsipras win tests Greece bailout monitors - FT.com

Thank goodness the Greek people have passed the baton back to the man if not party that placed them there. The shared mandate is clear now they can work together to deliver IMHO.

Its clear where the forwards responsibility lay now, ie with the Greece people and their votes!

Drug resistance: 'Super-gonorrhoea' outbreak in Leeds - BBC News

The issue of antibiotic resistance and drug resistance in general is getting very real for not only the poorest parts of the world with TB but also now among the UK population:

"Highly drug-resistant gonorrhoea is spreading in the north of England ....
One of the main treatments has become useless against the new strain of the sexually transmitted infection."

'Super-gonorrhoea' outbreak in Leeds - BBC News

QUOTE: "If this becomes the predominant strain in the UK we're in big trouble, so we have to be really meticulous in making sure each of these individuals has all their contacts traced and treated." its already reached "further four have been reported in Macclesfield, Oldham and Scunthorpe."

I wonder how much of this is out there outside of the UK and how much it gets transmitted from here to countries with poor health systems, that will be a disaster!

Train strikes and party leaders, externialities and unintended consequence or not!

From Jeremy Corbyn to the new Bill on Union strike ballots, this is an interesting read, we should never be afraid of change and to let it work its way through in one way or another.

" ............But in these troubling times, there must be broader lessons about how difficulties can sometimes lead to exciting discoveries. In this spirit, rather than fret about the future of British politics, here is an optimistic view of unexpected yet welcome developments that might flow from forthcoming setbacks............ "

Carly Fiorina Trump’s Republican debate

Trump supporters I suppose are to be expected but Trump to lead a party or country isn't. In a way his business bravado could well support the case the the ex-HP CEO, good luck to her, would be good to have a women candidate on either side and for one to win! Lets see!!

Why Do So Many Incompetent Men Become Leaders?

This is a good read and works to support women as we should.

Part of the challenge however is how do we stop incompetent leaders becoming leaders in the first places or having leaders prove themselves incompetent after the event. Predicting the failures would be really helpful to everyone, ahead of the game!

Brazil - 'junk' status as problems mount | World news | The Guardian

Brazil has debt rating cut to 'junk' status as problems mount | World news | The Guardian

From BRIC to MINT the trend will continue and the ride wont be smooth, only India seems to be playing the reform card from BRIC and they have a long way to go, but go I suspect they will. Modi with his commitments to health, sanitation and other infrastructure might just make it. We will see, come 2020, 2030!

Why drivers in China intentionally kill the pedestrians they hit: China’s laws have encouraged the hit to kill phenomenon.

Difficult to verify and validate this story but I would love to know is it accurate and is it a problem eanywhere else in the world? Testing the author, the data, the narrative is always tricky!!
